The first time in 100 years they finally get to hold that sweet Trophy. They defeated the Cleveland Indians 8-7. They won in a dramatic fashion. The cubs were losing 3-1 but made a dramatic come back in games 5 to 6 then the cubs set up a winner take all in game 7. Two batters later, catcher Miguel Montero hit a single, bringing one more Cub home and pushing the score to 8-6 Chicago reliever Carl Edwards got the first two outs quickly then walked Guyer.
