Buddies

The buddies at Los Encino’s School are paired based on grade and personality. 6^th graders are paired with kindergarteners and 5^th graders are paired with 1^st graders. You are based with one or two buddies depending on the class size. The girls are paired with girls most of the time and the boys are paired with boys most of the time. Some people have two buddies but the choosing on who will have two buddies is random. The teachers pick your buddies put you can’t put in recommendations. With our buddies we have designated buddy time during the school day and on Fridays you can choose to eat lunch with them. In buddy time you can build sculptures, make bracelets, or sort candy. At recess everyone can play with anyone and their buddies but if you don’t want to play with your buddy you don’t need to but don’t just leave them still interact with them. We have buddies so the kindergarteners get to have someone to go to and look up to when they need help. The buddies are good because both buddies teach each other new things. My buddy is a ball of joy she loves to play and do new things.The buddies are a great way to interact with each other and I think buddies are the best. This was written by Joely
