Which sport is harder: softball or baseball?

A frequently asked question is: is softball harder than baseball?

Multiple sources have said that softball is harder than baseball. They say that the reaction time for the fielders is much smaller because a softball field is half the size of a baseball field. Knowing that information you may be thinking that hitting a homerun (over the fence) is easier in softball than in baseball. But really it is harder to hit a homerun in softball because a softball is much heavier and more dense than a baseball so it does not travel as far. It is also harder to make an out in the field in softball because the bases are closer together, in softball the bases are 60 feet instead of 90 feet in baseball. So it is harder to get an out because the batter is running a closer distance. To get an out in softball you basically have to release the ball right as it gets into your glove to get an out when you are in the infield. It is easier to get an out on the bases in baseball because the runner can take a lead before the pitch is released whereas in softball you have to wait until the pitch is released to take a lead or steal a base. Also since the bases are farther away it is easier to get an out because the runner has a longer distance to run. Overall many sources have said that softball is harder than baseball, but it is easier to get an out in baseball.
