The transcontinental railroad, one railroad going from coast to coast. There was many difficulties and many casualties to build and complete this. The people that worked on the transcontinental were mostly people from China. They get barley any money and a lot of the die each passing day while they. They got most of the hard work like setting the explosives and digging. They always had the risk of exploding, a cave in and also when they are going down cliffs their ropes could snap and they would fall to their death. The transcontinental railroad idea was refused the first time, but the second time they agreed. It took them years to complete this, many people have died trying to complete this especially trying to dig a tunnel through the Sierra Mountains.
